My Experience
PD Raicng Tr16ii RC car is a compact 1/16 scale that can be played with in tight spaces such as backyards or sandboxes. I usually love to play in the sandy area under our building, the first time I went to play, it just happened to be raining the day before, and when I got down, it sped inside the mud so fast that I could shake up the mud and water when I turned the corner.
Playing very cool at the same time, I went home and dismantled the car washed for nearly two hours, including the differential inside are stuck with a lot of small stones.
Since I hadn’t touched a PD Racing RC car before, I wasn’t sure how fast or how well it would perform, and I was amazed at how fancy I could play with it on this test drive.
On smooth pavement, the TR16ii feels very brisk. When driving on flat asphalt, as long as you pull the throttle to the end, it will fly out like an arrow. However, you can’t play with this RC car for too long, about 10 minutes, the temperature of the original brushed motor will become very high, which will easily cause the motor to burn out. The original brushed motor can work, but if you are looking for a higher performance, I suggest you to replace the brushed motor with a brushless motor will be better.
TR16ii’s spring shocks do a lot of damage on some of the rougher trails. Every jump would make a crashing sound with the chassis all touching the ground. After I upgraded all the spring shocks on the car to oil filled shocks, these crashes turned into smooth landings.
TR16ii vs. TK16 RC Car
Price:
TR16ii: focuses on the entry-level market, priced at about $106, suitable for novice players with limited budgets.
TK16: Slightly more expensive, with a small premium for some models due to configuration differences, but still in the cost-effective range.
Power System
TR16ii: comes standard with a 390 brushed motor, which is low maintenance but prone to overheating when running at high loads for long periods of time.
TK16: Optional brushless motor version, higher speed and better heat control, suitable for players who pursue speed and durability.
ESC.
TR16ii: 35A non-waterproof brushed ESCs are suitable for dry environments, but caution should be taken in muddy environments.
TK16: Some models are equipped with 45A waterproof ESCs, which can cope with wet or mild water-wading scenarios.
Overall, the TR16ii RC car is suitable for players with limited budgets and a focus on light entertainment, such as backyard racing or practicing on flat surfaces.
TK16 RC car is suitable for advanced players who are looking for durability and outdoor adaptability, and the brushless version is especially recommended for complex terrain such as grass and mud.
